Kansas City's West Bottoms Neighborhood

I was off on Friday, so I hoofed on down to the West Bottoms to get some pictures of this very promising, but undenyably derelict area. My first impression was that it is not a walkable place at all. For how empty it is, there is a very high amount of auto traffic through the area, largely by semi trucks and delivery vans. I got the distinct impression, after I had wandered around for a while, that the west Bottoms, when the sun goes down, are probably the roughest area in the city. Anyway, on with the photographs.
