Re: Downtown ballpark and condos

No real announcement. Just comments saying they were considering downtown as a location.

Re: Westport

It probably doesn't help that Missouri has gun laws that allow practically anyone to have an open carry, concealed carry gun without permits, background checks, anything.

Re: Hotel Bravo- 17th and Wyandotte

It could be attached with a gerbil tube like Crown Center is to Union Station. If they could get the MO Court of Appeals to move, a hotel there would work. I guess you wouldn't even need the tube as long as they could cordon off an area between a hotel back door and that entrance to the arena facing...

Re: Lumi Neon Museum Kansas City

If I were a very rich person, I'd buy this collection of arcade games and donate it to the auto museum/neon museum inside the former KC Star Press Pavilion. Maybe it should go to the Toy and Minature Museum instead. What say you all? https://www.nbclosangeles.com/news/local/arcade-games-auction-muse...

Re: Need cleveland ideas

The Northland has good schools. It's one of the reasons I pitched creating a couple of new high-end subdivisions on still undeveloped land 15 minutes from downtown. I don't know. People who live in Mission Hills-type neighborhoods probably send their kids to private school anyway.

Re: Hotel Bravo- 17th and Wyandotte

IMO, one of the design flaws of TMobile Arena is that they didn't plan for a high-end hotel to be attached to it. In our current high-security environment, a political convention with a sitting president would likely want a hotel to be next to the arena--or attached --where the convention is being h...

Re: Hotel Bravo- 17th and Wyandotte

Five-star would likely help with talent performing at various venues. Top stars need things like concierge service, butlers, in-house dry cleaner/tailors, in-house hair salon and spa, 24-hour room service, a highly-rated restaurant in the hotel, etc. The rooms would be very upscale and have things l...

Or maybe a factory that manufacturers those 3-D printer units they are using to innovate housing construction.

Re: Hotel Bravo- 17th and Wyandotte

Loew's is not a 5-star hotel. It's a 4-star, 4-diamond hotel.

Five-star hotels are the ultimate in luxury -- a step up in amenities and services.

Re: Hotel Bravo- 17th and Wyandotte

Having a 5-star hotel in Greater Downtown will also help with luring corporate headquarters back, and retaining ones that still remain.

Re: Phase Three Streetcar Expansion

Leeds wouldn't be such a dead gap if we could lure some big manufacturer back into the former Leeds GM plant that employed thousands. That building has rail lines going right into the building, so if some company that made streetcars might work there. The other idea is some company that builds manuf...

Re: OFFICIAL: Port Authority Riverfront Project

What I'm curious about is if the Port Authority has any plan to negotiate with the railroads to move the northern-most track further south in alignment with its' southern alignment to open up more land to develop south of Berkley Parkway? Yellow is the alignment of a single track. Blue lines outline...

Re: Three Light

I worked at a major medical center in NYC. It sucks that the cafeteria closes in most of them by 7 pm. I think Truman closes at 5 pm. The night shift workers, and family members who stay near their loved ones all night, are stuck with a limited vending machine offering that is often junk food. If yo...

Another downside of this is losing the Kansas City Southern name, and of course, one less local corporation.

Re: Need cleveland ideas

No. It's being realistic. CEOs and upper executives make decisions about where their offices are located. Kansas City's downtown lacks corporate presence, and it hurts us with jobs there. The River-Crown-Plaza strip is a narrow band that funds the other neighborhoods in KCMO. Not having our biggest ...

Re: Need cleveland ideas

Right now there is this type of higher-end residential at Briarcliff, and off Tom Watson Parkway in the Northland west of Riss Lake. Need more CEO-type housing. Maybe along NW 52nd and NW 56th street west of NW Northwood Road over to N. Green Hills and N. Klamm Road. Some developer needs to make thi...
