Re: Phase Three Streetcar Expansion

Just go back to NextRail scoring to see what gets built when. None of the fundamentals have changed for the corridors.

Re: General Amtrak Discussion

Just returned from a long Amtrak trip from KC to Albany and back. We last took a trip of this length in May (other direction). Service was friendly (not always typical) and overly chatty (typical). The biggest change was the food quality on CHI-KCY segment home. Granted, we were in a sleeper and coa...

7 days a week! Big deal for the neighborhood. Few restaurants are open every day.

Parking is already overbuilt. Let’s add more and dilute the $25 million transit investment.

Actually I was saying that they'd kneecap Barnes & Noble for any reason, but sure let's go with books.

Royals playing a Tuesday 7:10pm game is about the only thing that's gonna get people down there on those times of the week. Other than T-Mobile Center, Midland, P&L, etc etc. Side note: Crossroads restaurants were hopping tonight . One hour wait for carryout at Farina, packed patio at Extra ...

My biggest concern is they'll surround it with parking lots. And those lots will be so hard to develop if not done at the same time.
Oh, no. They will require massive subsidy to build garages, as is custom downtown.

Re: Office project at 27th & Main

Agree on the $45 psf rents; why should those artifically high rents be charged and subsidized by the city? Go rent the W&R building if you want to pay top dollar. I consider myself a YIMBY or whatever, and absolutely think that TIFs can be a strong form of government provided incentive to get more ...

Caught the new Bond film last night. New seats are comfy and heated. Side tables create awkward moments if you don't know the person you're sitting next to. House lights remained dim (verus off) during the entire film. It's nice to see everything in the restrooms working again (Alamo was the worst)....

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Why would traffic for a Royals' game downtown be any worse than traffic for people attending a concert at the T-Mobile Center? The only time I can foresee traffic being really bad is if there were a Royals' game on the same night as a concert at T-Mobile Center on the same night as something at the...

Absolutely. Don't want to create a crowding problem during the pandemic, even though the entire world has shown that transit is safe due to new and existing protocols. When trips are missed due to staffing shortages (a vehicle is scheduled to go out, but there isn't someone to drive it that day/time...
