Were gonna get a BBQ shop like the disgraceful slop that was in Crown Center arent we? It's the KC way after all
Three Little Pigs? They won awards at contests. It wasn’t Joe’s but it wasn’t remotely “slop”

Re: Phase Three Streetcar Expansion

For reference, the bridge is 1.1 miles from 3rd to 10th. It would have to be really bad weather for the train to take more than 3 minutes to cross.

Re: Phase Three Streetcar Expansion

why would it be single track? Maybe I missed where that was said somewhere? That would be a long stretch Yes, it was originally scoped in North Rail as single track I believe to reduce costs and to keep car traffic. I believe that bridge also is up for an overhaul in the next 5-10yr plus with the n...

Re: 18th and Vine

The issue with the logic is being a pedestrian mall isn't the reason having one is bad any more than an unprotected bike lane is bad because it's a bike lane. Like any piece of design it needs to work as what it is. To connect people from A to B better than an alternative or contain destinations alo...

You should totally apply for your PE stamp. Making up numbers isn't helpful. and there's 2020 documents showing the bridge could receive federal funding for work because it's condition is bad enough https://www.modot.org/sites/default/files/documents/2020%20Deficient%20Eligible%20Local%20Agency%20B...

Re: Phase Three Streetcar Expansion

The current model of streetcar is about the same weight as a fully-loaded tractor trailer. If a viaduct is handling over-the-road freight it can certainly handle streetcar. Math says otherwise. Train = 78,000 pounds https://kcstreetcar.org/about-streetcar/faqs/ With full CAF given load of 207 peopl...

Induced Demand would say you're wrong. It's what is built that matters, not if it's a pedestrian mall or not.

Who Is Taking KC Back? Behind The PAC Trying To Oust Kansas City Council Members https://www.kcur.org/politics-elections-and-government/2021-09-23/taking-kc-back-pac-kansas-city-council-recall That photo is wonderful. Re: Phase Three Streetcar Expansion

A look at the 2014 TDD map would be important as an addendum That was Prospect Max construction costs, Main St streetcar and two east side lines. It needed to be that big to raise enough. Think about how the current district can fund Main more or less by itself so the rest was for the other three li...

Re: 2023 KCMO Election

Fun math 8n that article.

To reach 84500 per
the 1st needs to lose 7775
The 4th 5880
The 2nd 4510

= 18165, or 20% of a district.

So the northland is hovering around 2.4-2.5 districts. Depends on the growth in the 4th north of the river

Re: 10th and Main Southwest Corner (former transit center)

30k sq ft would be what, three floors? Union Carbide + Lane Printing is 10k per floor combined and isn't too far off 3/4 the size described

So that's a 6-7 story building.

Seems like a waste of space for that spot. Should me double that height at least

Re: Three Light

For the groundbreaking, being off the timeline because of opportunities to start is far from unique. The streetcar downtown groundbreaking was May 22, 2014 The first track was already finished in ~Oct 2013 because modot was replacing the 670 bridge that fall. So the groundbreaking was for the remain...

Re: Downtown ballpark and condos

And if you think Overland Park voters want any part of a light rail line that goes to WyCo or KCMO then you are nuts. Call me nuts. They'd approve a light rail line to Chiefs and SKC stadiums at VW with an extension on to KCI. They better be prepared to pay for it without federal help. That's one h...

I'm positive that would bring a court challenge. They're describing a CID, it would hold up. https://revisor.mo.gov/main/OneSection.aspx?section=67.1521 Would take a vote of the people inside the district A CID would only be able to impose special assessments for public improvements and/or a 1% sal...
