Re: 2023 KCMO Election

STL is already there with masks I saw that and the AG filed a lawsuit so months of legal battles and wasted money. I'm vaccinated I wore my mask all the time last time around this time its kind of different I don't think this will help much if the goal is to get people vaccinated. The problem with ...

Re: Future Stadium Plans: Chiefs and Royals

Nine years is pretty realistically the long end of a new stadium downtown if they began work today. White sheet to opening day would be in the 5-8 year timeframe.

Re: Future Stadium Plans: Chiefs and Royals

Was in Denver last month when the Rockies were out of town. What they did around the stadium is they had their team store shops accessible from the outside of stadium, unlike Kauffman where you can only be in the team shop once you're inside. Then they also had some rooftop restaurants right across...

Re: Sprint Center opening day pictures

I don't normally use 4k projectors for image mapping. I would guess 6 to 8 UDX-W40. But I would need drawings to say for sure. Assuming Cordish would let us use their roof it would be a pretty straightforward install. There are many variables, the main one being that it's a west facing wall and the ...

There is a map of the proposed system somewhere around here or the city website.

My hope is that any APM to the CONRAC allows for a future T2 on the terminal D site.
Why D? I assumed B since you would be able to connect the headhouse.

Re: OFFICIAL: Port Authority Riverfront Project

I can tell you for sure that sales tax redirection is quite a thing. KCATA loses $6 million a year from TIFs still on the books -- almost enough to have funded zero fare! -- and no one is calculating how much gets directed in these EATs deals because they're often short term (like just construction...

All of the structured parking faces Prospect
But it's only one of the buildings on Prospect and it's also designated as "retail/restaurant"
Residential garage also along Prospect

Re: World Cup 2026 at Arrowhead?

I would’ve voted against the rolling roof. If we had it, it would’ve made that turd complex too viable to move the stadiums out of. I fear we would never have even had a chance to move the Royals and/or Chiefs. Use that money on something else than putting lipstick on a pig. That’s basically all I ...

Re: New County Jail

KCBJ says only 100 people live there, not 100 families and: "People living at Heart Mobile Village will be offered compensation packages to move. The county said it has set aside $240,000 in relocation costs and plans to give $5,000 to residents to cover other expenses." 5k in moving expenses is a ...

Re: World Cup 2026 at Arrowhead?

Could have maybe build a MLS stadium out there too (maybe between the other two) and there is room for the American Royal Complex and then you start getting some synergy that warrants some development of bars and restaurants. Maybe even some convention infrastructure. But no, let's just let one of t...

Re: World Cup 2026 at Arrowhead?

It was a county use tax for the rolling roof. If both teams would have thrown in for half of the 80 million, 20 each, it probably would have passed. We would have had a super bowl and final 4 by now, Royals ticket sales would be up 10% (more likely to buy a ticket and plan a weekend trip to KC if yo...

Re: New County Jail

Hard to believe there is no other viable (or vacant) land between downtown and Independence that didn't displace lower income residents from their homes. And $70,000+ per acre?!?! 90k is about what you pay for a standard 1/4 acre lot in a suburban development. So it's probably a little high but not...

Realy happy that Phase 2 of the Rock Island trail is now open. Super frustrated that their are ZERO plans to extend ot any further east. They could go rail adjacent all the way to 40 Highway, but they aren't even going to take it to Stadium Drive. A stadium drive trail head is less than ideal becaus...

When do we start using CMU's instead of timber for housing? No idea about the cost difference.
Never. CMU's are inefficient and expensive to finish.

ICF's are the future of low rise construction.
Intresting. I'm digging in.
