Almost all of the pieces were recovered, the statue can be restored. It will cost $12,000.00. City of Fountains foundation has a go fund me page.

Re: 10th and Main Southwest Corner (former transit center)

Back in the late eighties downtown office boom there was a post modern mid rise with a curved facade along the intersection proposed. The Star had renderings.

Sewer construction underway to serve the townhomes to be built on SE corner of 29th and Forest. They have ripped out all of the trees in the fenced in park on B of Ed property on NW corner and are putting in some sort of holding tank for overflow.

Love the shots looking south from River Market. The change in angle of the street grid adds such interest.

Re: Real Estate Listings of Interest (Metrowide)

Good deal for a 49 unit 1987 apartment complex at 1550 E 29th. Overlooking Troost lake, 2 blocks from freeway. It is now subsidized housing, so the garages and carports are not even being used. Large units could be updated and security gates added to parking. With the rents being paid on Troost, the...

Re: We are getting a new airport!!!

Got confused and lost with the view of the front outside with the garage reflected in the glass of the head house. Thought I was seeing double garages!

Re: Phase Three Streetcar Expansion

A roof over Arrowhead would enable this facility to be used year round for concerts, exhibitions, etc. This would help support the streetcar and any new development around TSC.

They have archaeologists on hand to sift through the foundation deposits for traces of early KC.

Glad to see this happen, but the appearance reminds me of an old multiple winged hospital conversion. Like the designer took inspiration from 31st and Baltimore.

Re: Nashville?

Nashville only has marginally milder winters. It is about the same latitude as Eureka Springs or Fayetteville ARK or the MO boot heel. Was there once in late April and all the trees and blossoms were brown from a late freeze.

I got that poll on my land line. I have not lived north in 7 years. It was questions stated as fact and they kept repeating dubious "facts" then asking "knowing this would you then vote for de-annexation?"

Re: Towns on the Ohio River by stern wheeler paddleboat

Missing: I don't feel I can really critique the ports of call, as in all cruise ship/boats we were only in port for 8 hours or so. Did go to Pittsburgh 2 days before embarkation so I could see something more, but can review what I did see: Pittsburgh, had never been there. I had an idea it was the r...

Re: Midtown Area Apartment Boom

The single family home neighbors at 39th and Kenwood are fine with the design, they just want adequate off street parking behind the building because they have had problems with cars blocking in alley and even parking(trespassing) in the homeowners parking area.

A recreation of the original Sanderson"s. I thing it was on east 8th or 9th? It was like the Edward Hopper painting. The late night clientele was the colorful underbelly of KC. As students we would hit the place because it was open when we were still up. My friend still has a scar on his forehead fr...

Re: Trees in KC (ongoing)

I got swift action from the city to remove a street tree green ash that had signs of emerald borer infestation. It really was not as bad as I exaggerated it to be but then the squeaky wheel thing. The crew that took the tree down just felled the entire thing onto the street. The stump removal not so...
