Re: Trees in KC (ongoing)

What effect will climate change have on our urban forest? Kansas City is already on the western edge of the eastern deciduous forest. Go 1000 miles east and the trees just get bigger. Go 100 miles west and the only trees are a few cottonwoods along creeks.

Wonder if they will have an open house before operations begin like they did with Bartle Hall in '94 and Union Station in 1914?

According to the tenants having to move out of the building at Armour and Holmes for renovation the same (re)developer has purchased the Alcazar.

Re: Real Estate Listings of Interest (Metrowide)

This apartment complex has sold. All tenants have received notices to move out. Will be remodeled to compete with new apartments on Beacon Hill. So many section 8 voucher buildings being emptied now including on Armour Blvd and Alcazar on 39th. I don't know where the folks are going to find places t...

Re: Office project at 27th & Main

Would not hold my breath that anything will ever be built between this building and 27th. The family that owns Fidelity has an edifice complex and also wants the northward view that the slight jog in Main provides. If they own all the parcel it will remain an empty lawn to protect their view shed. I...

Re: Office project at 27th & Main

Heading north on Main it looks like the bow of a cruise ship. Which is worse, an office building that extends with occupied floor down to ground level with an attached garage or an office building on a parking garage base?

Still like the Petticoat Lane urban canyon(except for the skywalk). Although it was more like a gorge when the Lillis and Waldheim buildings were there.

Across Main St., Major Murray Davis Park has received a grant from AARP for a makeover. Community input will be solicited. Have no idea why AARP would do this. Are there a lot of seniors in the area?

Re: Metro Multi-Family Construction

Of course good old structures are never razed in Kansas City. Also I do not believe most apartments in the KC market are candidates for condo conversion. If you look at most condos in KC the majority are larger square footage than most apartments.

Almost all of the pieces were recovered, the statue can be restored. It will cost $12,000.00. City of Fountains foundation has a go fund me page.

Sewer construction underway to serve the townhomes to be built on SE corner of 29th and Forest. They have ripped out all of the trees in the fenced in park on B of Ed property on NW corner and are putting in some sort of holding tank for overflow.

Re: Real Estate Listings of Interest (Metrowide)

Good deal for a 49 unit 1987 apartment complex at 1550 E 29th. Overlooking Troost lake, 2 blocks from freeway. It is now subsidized housing, so the garages and carports are not even being used. Large units could be updated and security gates added to parking. With the rents being paid on Troost, the...
