Re: OFFICIAL - Second and Delaware

To add 2-cents to this: If I was looking for a rental downtown this would be the first building I would consider. For me it is the energy efficiency and the rooftop gardens. When you live in the city you (generally) give up a backyard and front porch in exchange for the vibrancy and pleasure of the ...

Re: 10th and Main Southwest Corner (former transit center)

Glad to see this moving forward. We need better green space downtown, not necessarily more, and given this sites location on the streetcar line in the heart of downtown it has always seemed to me it makes more sense as a building than a plaza.

How about making Walnut pedestrian only through the Crossroads and DT?
I love the concept but still think we lack the density of pedestrians to support this level of pedestrianization without Walnut becoming a ghost town.

Re: Capping the Loop

I'm brand new here, not an expert. But my only concern with opening Walnut, Main, etc. all the roads through the capped loop park is that it wouldn't make it a very good park to walk in if you have to stop every block to cross a road. Atleast if one of the roads is down, people can have atleast one...

Re: Capping the Loop

Keep a defined crossing for pedestrians and bikes (like the paver idea mentioned above). Open as needed to cars when Grand is closed to preserve access. Otherwise I think limiting car accessibility might also help people choose to walk, bike or take transit as opposed to jumping in the car.

Should be a solid improvement and similar to One Light corner. https://i.ibb.co/g6VhbF2/Screen-Shot-2021-06-28-at-2-14-31-PM.png I think the concern we're getting at is much more at street level. Light pole, hydrant, etc all right in the middle of the walking zone on the sidewalk. But I suspect you...

Oh yeah? That would be fantastic. That block has always been pretty rough for walking.

Complaining about Cordish projects is on-brand for the rag Haha that too lol. This is very true, I was sincerely wondering what was meant by this being on-brand for Cordish. I may agree, just need clarification! I put it in the same category as the weird hose fence thing at 14th Street. Just weird ...

The parking sign within the temporary sidewalk is VERY on-brand for Cordish. https://twitter.com/downtownkc/status/1409326291879272450 Likely not Cordish. I thought was this boards boy. He seems pretty anti development and his twitter is well 90% pandering garbage. I don’t think he ever was. Pushed Troy Schulte and the head of finance out the door. Campaign backed by the most well known anti development and transit groups. Approved free transit but d...

Re: OFFICIAL - Reverb (1800 Walnut)

Went to the Mercury room last night with the wife. Probably one of the more solid cocktail experiences I’ve had in town. The drinks were absolutely divine, with some of the highest quality alcohol I’ve had. The view is actually better than I thought it would be. While the price is steep, as it’s a ...
