No way there isn’t a massive fight with the next project over incentives.
I thought the city and cordish already agreed on incentives for all the towers at the same time back with the original agreement. Basically the city funds most of the parking structure or something like that.

Re: Office project at 27th & Main

They don't have a loud and loyal following. The Facebook algorithm is fooling you is my guess. KC TIF Watch speaks at council meetings and get retweeted by Bunch (and I would assume others). You don't have to be in a bubble to be exposed to their nonsense..... I just said they don't have a loud and...

Re: Office project at 27th & Main

Look at Nashville or Austin. Big Big garages. 27&Main will be less garage than Strata or 1400Baltimore iirc. Yeah, might be a national trend, but at least the buildings are taller in Nashville and Austin, so it just seems better proportionally. It may also be I'm just too used to the dc area where ...

I don't know man, it's like the downtown stadium where the vast majority of comments online (on any platform) are against the stadium but you seem to think otherwise and call it basically fake social medi...

Re: Office project at 27th & Main

^ Especially in a city that sees so little of this type of development and in a metro area where the suburbs will give out even more corporate welfare and nobody cares. This tifwatch group is a disaster for KCMO because they are developing a very loud and loyal following and city hall pays attentio...

Re: Office project at 27th & Main

Never heard of them I have relatives in the city and they comment and share kcmo tif projects on tif watch etc on facebook, so that's how I see it all the time. I have tried to argue with them, but it's like talking to a brick wall. KC desperately needs projects like this to get some new office spa...

Re: Three Light

My favorite street in KC is Walnut. It has a nice urban canyon downtown (3light will make it even better), but even in crossroads, it has a nice urban canyon feel to it (even though buildings are shorter) with some distance that I don't think any other street in the city has. I think that skywalk fo...

Re: NFL Draft

I know what you mean Fang, but KC would be even more powerful in Kansas than having to play second to fiddle to STL. The state of Kansas would probably become a blue state, and then all of the sudden you could do alot more for the city and citizenry than being stuck in never-changing red Missouri. ...

Re: NFL Draft

^ Oh I know. Missouri sucks too and KCMO constantly gets shafted by the state. But KS would not be any better. It's quite amazing that KCMO has been able to be as successful has it has been considering it has to fight the states of MO and KS. No, it's not unique to KC at all. Suburbs are the driving...

Love the urban canyon forming along I-670. They need to deck it, but driving through there is pretty cool with all the buildings towering over the depressed interstate.

Great pics. Still not sure about the big blank walls, but I'm sure it will end up fine, especially after four light is built.

Re: NFL Draft

Kansas probably has the worst urban areas of any state in the country. The state only cares about Johnson County. KCK is honesty a joke. You can tell me all you want about projects happening downtown etc, but the place is stuck in a 1970's time capsule with bunch of tacky subsidized suburban develop...

Re: Phase Three Streetcar Expansion

Probably in the minority here but I still think we'd be alot better off fixing our over-built highway issue (i.e. the loop, etc.) than paying for light rail. We only have money for so many things at a time, so this is the direction I'd go. I think we'd reap more rewards & development for the urban ...

Re: OFFICIAL - New KCI Terminal

^ It is a ridiculous detour. There are far more efficient ways to get someone from Parkville back onto I-29 north than a detour (almost) to Smithville. That's the primary grievance. Secondary is better signage on the Kansas side -- this should be alerted in several parts of the metro on primary roa...

Re: Phase Three Streetcar Expansion

I guess all I'm saying is that the next vote to fund another major streetcar extension really needs to be a part of much bigger plan than just another streetcar line. KC has finally gotten a taste of modern transit so I think the mindset has changed. I think the city and region is ready to fund some...

Re: Phase Three Streetcar Expansion

Austin is building a full blown light rail system of multiple lines (including subways) among other improvements such as upgrading their DMU Commuter rail line. I think it would be silly for KC to use and probably exhaust all of its potential revenue streams for transit just to run streetcars down 3...
