I turned 28 on August 8th, 2006. Good times were had by all.
This doesn't have much to do with my birthday, but I thought it was a good idea to post it, anyway. My neighbors put their trash outside their door, when the dumpster is literally ten yards away. After a week, I took matters into my own hands.
I was walking over to Kelly's office, and I was very taken by the view of 909 Walnut.
Kelly, hard at work.
I am a famous piano player.
The next day, I was actually 28. To celebrate, we went to the ballgame.
Until a proper vessel could be found, we used Devo's hat for holding the money in our silly "get on base" game. Devo evidently has a much smaller head than mine.
Erp procured a paper cup for the remainder of the game.
The place was awash with Red Sox fans. Many held signs in a shameless attempt to be broadcast on closed-circuit television.
From our seats, we were afforded a line-on-sight view of the dance-off. For once, a couple of goofy twenty-somethings were used.
David Ortiz hit a home run that night, and drew a lot of applause.
This girl, so sayeth Geoff, is Cara Kahn, who was on the Chicago version of the Real World.
Field-groomings.
There were a lot of people there.
These guys that sat a couple rows in front of us held aloft a funny sign.
Whoever was pitching gave up a home run, so Buddy Bell grounded him.
Root, root root for the Royals!
Geoff almost broke even in our little game.
Reggie Sanders and Mark Teahen await the plate.
Erp, like me, almost broke even. Andrew won everything else.
Here I am, one dollar short of my opening balance.
Put a zero in the top of the ninth, and that's the final score.
We stood for the game's end.
It was lovely.
Geoff takes care of some business in the parking lot.
We hastened to Harry's, and ran into Rose. It's always good to see Rose.
I have little to no memory of this happening.
Again, no idea.
Apparently another woman, even more attractive than the first(but just as married), sat down with us, and started barking orders.
We apparently thought something was funny.
Erp was conscripted to guest camera duty.
This must have been after Geoff bought two rounds of "Crotinis" and Rose had probably already brought out the Tequila shots infused with pickle juice. Once again, I managed to avoid vomiting on my birthday, so I'd call it a complete success.
