I just got my new camera today(1/15), and these are a few of the first pictures I have taken with it. Enjoy, but I assure you that actual pics will be produced soon.
This is my brother when he woke up this morning.
My shower curtain is very colorful.
Denali is my linux server.
Kilimanjaro is my windows PC.
This is my oven, in staggering detail.
This is our television device, used for displaying broadcasted video transmissions.
Vesuvius will be a media server, once we learn how to make it one.
Vinson is my laptop.
This is a window.
This is the desktop of my PC at work.
Bryan and Wayne work on second shift.
Geoff is hard at work looking at hotmail.
Louis wasn't quite expecting to have his picture taken.
It snowed in Kansas City, the day I got my camera. I was so excited. They let us off work at 4AM, instead of 9, and I managed to get home by 5. It was a long, slow drive. When I got home, I snapped this picture, of my street.
Here are a few inundated cars in my building's parking lot.
This is my friend Susie, as photographed by my friend, Joel.
This is Susie's cat's homage to Oolong.
This is the front of the building in which I work.
Like a bunch of suckers, Geoff and Louis and I went out after work again. This was on the wall, at one of the bars we went to.
Geoff fancies himself a gambler. He foolishly bet $4 that he could sink the 7-ball on demand.
Here he is, sizing up his shot.
And here, after his "shot," is the 7-ball, unaffected by his testosterone.
Here I am, making an ass of myself, as I have no talent in pool, whatsoever.
Stacey just had a child, and is now finally able to drink beer again.
Kevin joined us for the Boulevard tour.
We just kept going to to the bar for more beer. We were animals. Drunk animals.
This is the gate to the parking lot at my building. I always thought the sign was funny.
Brian and I decided to go and check out the Liberty Memorial. It was built in memory of the valour of soldiers throughout the world, about 80 years ago, and over the years, fell into a state of disrepair. In 2000, it was determined that it needed to be touched up, and construction enveloped it for the first year and a half that I lived in Kansas City. It was reopened to the public in May of 2002, and it took me this long to finall make it to see it.
This is a nice look up the tower.
I closed up on the top of the tower, to get a look at the detail of it. Isn't it pretty?
This is Union Station , which used to be Kansas City's railway station. Some years ago, it was converted into a museum and tourist center, when rail travel went to pot. Recently, however, it has been readopted as Kansas City's Amtrak station, with a brand new facility housed therein.
This is the main branch of the Kansas City Post Office.
This is a new highrise that's being built at the south end of Crown Center. It's always nice to see people reinvesting in their city.
This is the area just south of downtown that our mayor has designated SoLo , or "South of the Loop." It seems very disappointing that our own mayor identifies a area by its proximity to the downtown interstate highway loop. It is a very promising area, though, and I look forward to what it will become.
This is a rather nice image of a view southeast from the tower, with Union Hill in the foreground, and Midtown just behind it. The rather large brick building, two buildings to the right of the one behind the big antenna is my building.
This is downtown Kansas City, KS, looming off in the distance. I hear it's nice, though I've never been there.
Here is the obligatory picture of downtown KC. I am constantly surprised by how nice it looks, but it can and will look a lot nicer.
This is Crown Center, which lies roughly halfway between downtown and Midtown. It's the world headquarters of Hallmark, and host to countless offices, businesses and residences.
Here is a view of the western side of "SoLo," with Bartle Hall and its four spires just behind it.
This is a view of 31st Street, which runs the edge of the height of Midtown. Penn Valley Community College is the large brick complex on the right.
