We travelled to Madison, WI, over the weekend of June 5th to see our friends James and Jackie get married, along with seeing a number of other people.
I drove up to Minneapolis on Thursday, to pick up Amanda. We left town on Friday afternoon, which left Thursday night free for going out. Amanda chose out a fun beer bar in Minneapolis' Uptown neighborhood, called William's. I informed my cousin Vince that I'd be in town, so he promptly showed up.
Amanda and I arrived, and I was ready and raring to go.
Amanda, Vince, and Abby enjoyed the drinks and conversation.
Abby and Naomi seemed happy to be there too.
Naomi and I cheesed it up.
Vince told our cousin James that I'd be in town, so he came with his girlfriend, Adriana.
Abby and Naomi were enmeshed in conversation when this picture was taken.
Here are the Minnesota girls
The day of the wedding came, and so did Steve and Renae. Renae and Amanda were happy to see each other and catch up in the Knave of the church.
Amanda and Renae offered their congratulations and good wishes to the groom.
Immediately following the wedding, the four of us adjourned to the nearest watering hole, a place called Rocky's, to while away the time spent taking pictures at the church. Steve and Renae goofed around, instead of being serious, for the camera.
Ah, Wisconsin! The home of Special Export.
Amanda and I enjoy drinking beer in nice clothes.
Steve and Renae just would not settle the hell down.
Here is the crowd at the reception.
I don't know who Renae and Steve must have known to get their hotel room, but for some reason, they got performance toilet paper, I noted.
Dismayed by the $3 charge for every beer at the reception, Steve and I found a liquor store and stocked up. We returned to their room to drink up on some tasty Wisconsin beer, and watch a commercial featuring Clint Eastwood.
Renae, and a lampshade.
I settled into sitting in a slovenly manner quite nicely.
Amanda came over to get a picture with me, and I fell asleep.
Those crazy Masbruchs.
Yet another unflattering picture of me.
Jackie and James, wife and man.
This is a sneak picture of Renae and Amanda.
They saw this one coming, however.
Some kind of ceremony started, involving James and Jackie. Note the screwy formation.
Our old hall director from Loras, Jason LeFeber, and James' best man, took an opportunity to dance with the bride.
I didn't take this picture. However, I do find it humorous.
There was something going on regarding a tie that I just don't recall.
James painstakingly removes his wife's garter.
Steve was getting rambunctious, as the evening wore on.
I present Walker, the winner of the baghead dance contest.
All the Loras alumni in attendance gathered for a picture. This is merely one of about 200 that were taken, so look at Steve's website too.
After the reception, and immediately following bar outing, Amanda had had just about enough of being awake. She slept hard. Out for the count, she was.
Then, for the 4 1/2 hour drive back to Minneapolis, she slept a bit more.
