James and Jackie tie the Knot, June 5th, 2004

We travelled to Madison, WI, over the weekend of June 5th to see our friends James and Jackie get married, along with seeing a number of other people.

vince.jpgI drove up to Minneapolis on Thursday, to pick up Amanda. We left town on Friday afternoon, which left Thursday night free for going out. Amanda chose out a fun beer bar in Minneapolis' Uptown neighborhood, called William's. I informed my cousin Vince that I'd be in town, so he promptly showed up.
john.jpgAmanda and I arrived, and I was ready and raring to go.
amandavinceabby.jpgAmanda, Vince, and Abby enjoyed the drinks and conversation.
abbynaomi.jpgAbby and Naomi seemed happy to be there too.
johnnaomi.jpgNaomi and I cheesed it up.
adrianajames.jpgVince told our cousin James that I'd be in town, so he came with his girlfriend, Adriana.

renaeamanda.jpgThe day of the wedding came, and so did Steve and Renae. Renae and Amanda were happy to see each other and catch up in the Knave of the church.
renaejamesamanda.jpgAmanda and Renae offered their congratulations and good wishes to the groom.
steverenae.jpgImmediately following the wedding, the four of us adjourned to the nearest watering hole, a place called Rocky's, to while away the time spent taking pictures at the church. Steve and Renae goofed around, instead of being serious, for the camera.
specialex.jpgAh, Wisconsin! The home of Special Export.
amandajohn.jpgAmanda and I enjoy drinking beer in nice clothes.
steverenae.jpgSteve and Renae just would not settle the hell down.
reception.jpgHere is the crowd at the reception.
performance.jpgI don't know who Renae and Steve must have known to get their hotel room, but for some reason, they got performance toilet paper, I noted.
stevetv.jpgDismayed by the $3 charge for every beer at the reception, Steve and I found a liquor store and stocked up. We returned to their room to drink up on some tasty Wisconsin beer, and watch a commercial featuring Clint Eastwood.
renaesmile.jpgRenae, and a lampshade.
john.jpgI settled into sitting in a slovenly manner quite nicely.
johnasleepamanda.jpgAmanda came over to get a picture with me, and I fell asleep.
renaesteve.jpgThose crazy Masbruchs.
johnrenae.jpgYet another unflattering picture of me.
jackiejames.jpgJackie and James, wife and man.
renaeamanda.jpgThis is a sneak picture of Renae and Amanda.
renaeamanda.jpgThey saw this one coming, however.
jamesjackiedance.jpgSome kind of ceremony started, involving James and Jackie. Note the screwy formation.
jackiefeebsdance.jpgOur old hall director from Loras, Jason LeFeber, and James' best man, took an opportunity to dance with the bride.
neckerchief.jpgI didn't take this picture. However, I do find it humorous.
jamesjackietie.jpgThere was something going on regarding a tie that I just don't recall.
jamesjackiegarter.jpgJames painstakingly removes his wife's garter.
stevewhatsup.jpgSteve was getting rambunctious, as the evening wore on.
baghead.jpgI present Walker, the winner of the baghead dance contest.
loraspeople.jpgAll the Loras alumni in attendance gathered for a picture. This is merely one of about 200 that were taken, so look at Steve's website too.
veryasleepamanda.jpgAfter the reception, and immediately following bar outing, Amanda had had just about enough of being awake. She slept hard. Out for the count, she was.
asleepamandacar.jpgThen, for the 4 1/2 hour drive back to Minneapolis, she slept a bit more.
