I have written a useless web form that will look up information about your ZIP code.
Have a look.
well, it certainly is useless. of course that didn't stop me from checking my current and past zip codes. my current town has a mere 22,000 more people per square mile than my hometown.
pointless exercises are often the most fun. if you learned something from it, all the better.

I used to have something like it, when this site was hosted on my home machine. The old one, however, wasn't as exact, with the densities, and didn't work in square miles. Also, this new one is written entirely in perl, as an academic exercise for myself.
You'll notice as well, that it's a .cgi file. I figured calling a file '.cgi' is closer to standard than using 'htsh.' I have been thinking, however, of making my own file extension, like index.bdc, or something like that. Anyway, it's all part of an effort to get away from naming my files htsh.

Yup, useless, but kinda cool at the same time.

When you hosted your own site did you use Apache?
